In this , teen violence is discussed in terms of video games implications . Video games are adversely played by many teenagers from all walks of life and they are high factors contributing to the cause of violence among the teenagers . Video games are mostly by this set of age group because of the attractive graphics that make the game more enticing and fulfilling . The video game industry has grown into an amicable force because of its ever growing consumer support with the biggest consumers consisting of teens . The video games are sold at reasonable prices making them easily available to the teenagers and also the Video Game industry has very good marketers who make it easier to sell their video games . Because of this , the teenage population is highly affected by the video industry

Implications of Video games

Most of these video games like the Doom and Marvel verses Capricorn have highly violent interactions that entail that one gets more and more violent so that they can move to the next level . Influencing the mind of a teenager is very easy and the more violent scenes teenagers get exposed to the more aggressive they become because they practice that in the video game . Consequently the teenagers have a lot of free time at their disposal and can use that time to play video games all they want Basically a teenager is someone who is in the process of trying to understand themselves because of all the physical , psychological and physiological changes going on in their body to transform them into adults

The excitement elicited in playing this game , makes the teens want to use all tactics they can to move to the higher levels and this also results to addiction of the game . As they play the games , the scenes portrayed in those games affects them psychologically more often in a negative way [James , 1997 .37] . This is because when an opponent dies they just don ‘t fall down but blood gets splashed all over on the walls and they hold their necks groaning as they die , if they are bombed the body disintegrates into pieces that can be recognizable . If a teenager was playing and has killed his contender he will celebrate the victory of eliminating his contender something that makes one loose touch with the normal human empathy that makes one not to enjoy such murder scenes In other words it becomes normal to shoot and kill in the video game as well as be shot and killed because one can restart the level afresh and play again .
