Anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa are the two most common types of eating diss . These two diss usually are difficult to distinguish from each other because they have similar characteristics In both cases a person is too concerned about his or her body . There are still some features that are different for anorexia and bulimia

then practice self-induced vomiting This process is going on in recurrent episodes and such individuals feel lack of control over eating during these episodes . The individuals with anorexia are usually bone-thin though even then they continue to believe they are overweight . People with bulimia eat and then vomit in secret and their body weight remains normal or above normal that is why it is difficult to detect that they suffer some diss . Anorexic people are obsessed with the fear of becoming fat and usually posses a distorted body image . In my opinion the U .S . like other industrialized nations became image-obsessed culture where person ‘s appearance determines a lot in person ‘s life . This obsession is stirred up by advertisement featuring bone-thin models set up images in girls ‘ minds of beauty . Thus people become obsessed with how they look and very often these concerns cross the line and turn into emotional and physical diss . Another reason is that the U . S . society is suffering a strong phobia of becoming fat and girls are taught from an early childhood that it is better to be thin , thinness becomes equivalent of success and fat people are associated with failure and ugliness (C ) Give one reason why you think eating diss are more prevalent among women than men

I think the reason is that women are more concerned about their appearance than men , because a lot of women believe that their main strength is beauty (D ) Find two research articles that describe possible causes of and /or treatments for an eating dis .
